3.82 – Ben Chatwin

A brief foray into experimental music, thanks to Scottish composer Ben Chatwin – whose wonderfully atmospheric Heat & Entropy is one of the LPs that has been nominated by the public for the Scottish Album of the Year.

These are unusual waters for me to be in, so I hope I’ll be forgiven for confessing that I’m not a huge fan of the entire album; it’s interesting, for sure, but some of the tracks left me a little cold. However, this one – Euclidean Plain – is outstanding. I could listen to this kind of soundscape for hours.
