OK, I’m sorry. It’s been a few days since I posted and I’ve just had to go back and retroactively add in all of the missing tracks. It’s not that I didn’t have them picked or anything – in fact I’ve got a whole bunch of them primed and ready to be put into the mix – but I just didn’t manage to stay on top of things. It’s not the first time, and it likely won’t be the last.
Anyhow, here we go with something new and up-to-date – and it’s a goodie. If you know anything about me, you’ll know that I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for grunge. I’m still keenly following Pearl Jam’s latest exploits and I’m always happy to take a trip down nostalgia lane with a full album listen of Superunknown, Dirt or Nevermind (yeah, you can argue that In Utero is the more proficient album all you want but it isn’t – Tourettes and Scentless Apprentice are almost unlistenable to and you know it.)
And I’m generally happy to come across new bands that have a good old-fashioned grungey feel to them, which today’s offering definitely does. Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, this is Fangclub with their debut single Bullet Head – a Nirvana-esque two minute piece of rocket-fuelled fun.
These guys are great and deserve to go far. Hopefully they will.
(Unfortunately you’ll have to follow the link to Vevo, because I can’t embed the YouTube link, which is really fucking annoying. Bad form chaps…)
