Day 355 – The Silhouette Era

More northern Californian surf-pop/sub rock sounds today from Bay Area group The Silhouette Era. This is Devotion from their 2015 album Beacons and not only is it an awesome little tune but it’s also the best example of an organ accompanying the main guitar riffs since the wurlitzer in some of Belle & Sebastian’s early work like The Boy With the Arab Strap.

I really, really like how this sounds, and the fact that it’s quite unlike anything else out there just now (at least that I’ve heard). And the rest of the album is pretty awesome too – go check it out.
