Back to folkier waters today. Here’s Norfolk songwriter and former Angelou front woman Holly Lerski with Wooden House; a lovely wee tune from her recent album (also called) The Wooden House.
Kind of a bit Beth Orton-meets-Jeff-Buckley-by-way-of-Eddi-Reader, this is really intricate, soulful and resonant stuff indeed. I’m a fan of the whole album but, for me, this is the stand out track and it’s gorgeous.
I’m away to listen to some more of her back catalogue. If it’s even half as good as this, I’ll be very happy.
