I’m in a mellow mood today, so here’s some lo-fi goodness from Southern California singer-songwriter Michael Taylor – AKA Hiss Golden Messenger.
Kind of like a fusion of Bonny Prince Billy and Buffalo Springfield, mixed with some splashings of the Byrds and John Denver, this is really nice stuff indeed. His 2014 album Lateness of Dancers is well worth checking out and actually contained a few tracks that I was seriously considering posting to the 365 list. But in the end I opted for this one instead.
This is Brother, Do You Know The Road? – the final song on his 2015 Southern Grammar EP and it’s bloody lovely. A proper slow-ridin’ piece of Americana-tinged goodness in the vein of Neil Young and Jackson Browne which I could happily listen to all day. Hope you like it too.
