I’ve been having a bit of an issue trying to keep up to date with the blog in the last couple of weeks. On the plus side, I’ve been averaging post per day and managing to keep listening to new stuff to add to the blog – but I’ve also been a day behind for a long time. I think I missed an entry a week or so back and have been playing catchup ever since.
But after stealing some time to myself this Saturday morning, I’ve finally sorted it out and got back up to speed – and I vow to not let it slip again. Daily posts will be in order again from now on, and I endeavour to discover some even more interesting and awesome tunes over the coming months.
So with that in mind, here’s today’s song – Bound to Break by Californian acoustic pop-punk duo This Wild Life. Now this isn’t usually the kind of sound I’d go for (as it’s veering perilously close to a boy band kind of vibe), but there’s something really lovely about this particular song. Maybe it’s the crystal sharp vocals, the thumping acoustic guitar that drives the chorus forward or just the heartfelt lyrics, but it all ties together wonderfully – and I love it.
Sure it’s a little bit emo and kind of reminiscent of a stripped back Dashboard Confessional at times, but I’m fine with that. It’s gorgeous stuff.
