This is the quite outstanding Sixty Eight – the title track from Central Californian rockers Slow Season’s second LP Mountains. A sprawling, snarling slice of throwback 70s prog/heavy rock that aims for the body but low blows you in the crotch before swigging a bottle of Jack and smoking a full pack of Marlboro Reds.
I’ve posted other unashamed rock/metal tracks in the past and I’ve usually been pretty excited by them – and this is no exception. I absolutely, bloody love this song and I’m not ashamed to admit it.
