Day 181 – Sons of Bill

Some Americana folk rock today from Virginia band Sons of Bill – with their gorgeous song Big Unknown.

Taken from the 2014 album Love and Logic, this is a lovely tune full of big guitars, big harmonies, and road stop diner sentiment. Kind of like a mix of Wilco, early REM and Jesse Malin, maybe with a smidgin of Ryan Adams thrown in for good measure.

I’m not a diehard fan of the genre by any stretch of the imagination, but I do like a good bit of country when it’s done well – and this is certainly that. The rest of the album is pretty sweet too and well worth checking out, but this is my favourite song of the bunch.

Hope you enjoy it – even if I had to use a live version video rather than a studio one. Still awesome though.
