Day 160 – Hurray For The Riff Raff

Fancy some wonderful southern folk blues by a shit-kicking queer Americana collective? Then look no further – I’ve got the perfect song for you.

This is End of the Line by New Orleans group Hurray For The Riff Raff and it’s a brilliant wee tune full of life, vitality, wailing harmonicas, fiddles and the kind of attitude that fuses campfire soul with Southern church choirs. It’s tremendous stuff and the rest of the album it’s taken from – Small Town Heroes – is also well worth your time.

The video below is taken from a live session for KEXP radio (and you should totally listen to their Music That Matters podcast btw) – and it’s a tremendous performance. Hope you enjoy it.
