Day 142 – Longfellow

Lethargic, tired and migrane-ridden, so today is another short one. But it’s a great tune, so let’s skip straight to it.

This is Medic by London-based alternative indie pop rockers Longfellow. Kind of like a mix between Ed Harcourt, The Killers and the more uplifting parts of Aqualung’s back catalogue, it’s a really nice track that combines a lovely piano-tinged intro with an upbeat Florence & The Machine-esque verse and chorus.

Not the most diverse or intricate level of musical meanderings by any stretch of the imagination, admittedly – and the picture on the YouTube link I found does make them look like an incredible bunch of hipster posers – but nevertheless it’s tight, well-crafted and pretty accessible stuff. And, above all, it’s a catchy, decent song, which is kind of the thing that matters at the end of the day.

Night all. Hope you like it.
