I’m a little cold-ridden today, so unfortunately I don’t have the wherewithal to manage a full post here. But I thought I’d take the opportunity to link to something very chilled and melancholy.
This is December by Wooden Arms – a UK alternative chamber music group who specialise in classical instrumentation and modern melodies. And it’s absolutely lovely.
Harrowing vocals are the order of the day here with heart tugging, tearjerking violins piercing over a smooth, sad ambient instrumental. It’s soul-crushing stuff but painfully, agonisingly beautiful too. Sorry to bring the end of the week to such a depressing close, but I really, really like this song – and there are moments when we all need to hear something like this from time to time.
Full service will (hopefully) be resumed tomorrow.
